Schlumberger Supplier Specialist in Quito, Ecuador

Description:

The purpose of the position is to manage relationships with a group of specific local suppliers, and it will have responsibility for helping to develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure consistent, reliable and profitable supply.

A successful person in this position must have knowledge and expertise in supplier management, including supplier selection, qualification, and performance management. Also, it is important that the person possess excellent organizational and communication skills, have the ability to think quickly and be able to solve problems, multitask and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement performance objectives with assigned suppliers, including cost reduction, lead time reduction, and quality improvement, and monitor progress through a supplier scorecard periodically.

  • Prepare and lead periodic management reviews, using dashboards with the main performance indicators, evaluation of strategic positioning, commercial perspectives and strategic developments of products and markets.

  • Connect with Sourcing, the Procurement and Sourcing (P&S) Center, Product Line, and local P&S teams to explain and implement the contract, shortening the preparation phase.

  • Review and consolidate the internal demand contributed by Product Lines, centers, and arbitrate priority issues.

  • Is responsible for the implementation of new contracts with suppliers.

  • Review contract utilization and take corrective action when necessary.

  • Prepare and manage negotiations in accordance with the company's interests.

  • Select target tools and products and perform a total integration cost analysis, including price, lead time, and quality costs.

  • Prepare and execute a Supplier Development Plan.

  • Lead supplier risk assessment and ensure regular updates.

  • Lead the resolution of supplier queries and conflicts.

  • Communicate the supplier strategy and key events of the supplier relationship to the Category, Sourcing and Supplier Quality teams. Report deviations from the plan and take corrective action.

  • Incorporate suppliers into the Supply Chain Portal, Global Traceability, and future commercial systems.

  • Conduct internal and supplier audits under the supervision of the Supply Chain Center Manager or P&S Manager.

  • Implement actions to continually reduce the loss of time, money, and resources.

  • Lead incident investigations and repair work plans.

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachellor / Engineer in Administration, Logistics, Commercial, Industrial, etc.

  • Experience of at least 2 years in supplier management and negotiation for companies in the Oil & Gas sector (Required).

  • Intermediate English Level.

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office

  • Intermediate English Level.
