Schlumberger Finance Intern in Calgary, Canada

The Finance Intern will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in finance and accounting by assisting our finance department with a range of tasks and will work closely with our finance team to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of various financial activities. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling revenue data, ensuring that all financial records align with actual revenue figures.

  • Budget Monitoring: Participate in the monitoring and tracking of functions budgets, highlighting any variances or irregularities.

  • Physical Counts - Field Visit: Conduct physical counts of inventory or assets in the field and ensure that counts match with recorded data.

  • Shadow Accounts Payable: Learn and shadow the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor communication.

  • Attend Month-End Reviews: Participate in month-end financial reviews and gain insights into the closing process, financial reporting, and analysis.

  • Involvement in Tax: Assist in preparing tax-related documents, records, and filings as necessary.

  • Specific Internal Controls Mini Audits: Conduct mini-internal control audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

  • An eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Canada, without sponsorship.
