Schlumberger Survey Specialist Gyrodata in Calgary, Canada

The Survey Specialist will prepare tools, equipment to perform surveys in the field and communicate results to client representatives in accordance with associated standards and procedures. Achieve proficiency in performing multiple combinations of Gyro, Measurement While Drilling (MWD)/Logging While Drilling (LWD), Gyro While Drilling (GWD) and Rotary Steerable (RSS) services in a single application (“Multiple Combined Service”) in accordance with local area requirements as assigned by the Product and Service Delivery Manager; “Proficiency” is defined as the ability to perform survey services repeatedly successfully. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Use tools and equipment to perform survey operations in the field.

  • Use Gyrodata, Inc. software, including Field apps, SharePoint, Multivendor and OASIS.

  • Apply Quality Assurance systems and standards.

  • Use field service and preventative maintenance procedures/manuals to perform operations. survey operations.

  • Check, test, assemble and install tools and equipment in the field.

  • Collect surveys and/or additional data.

  • Remove and disassembling tools and equipment in the field.

  • Present survey results to clients at jobsites.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for client jobs (job tickets, daily reports, and end-of-well reports).

  • Perform general shop duties on tools, equipment, including testing and verification.

  • Comply to client safety and training requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum high school education, GED or equivalent.

  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s Engineering degree in mechanical field preferred.

  • Experience in oilfield services industry an asset and 2-3 years of Survey Specialist, MWD/LWD, Directional Drilling experience preferred.

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills

  • Ability to work non-office hours and weekends as necessary.

  • Ability to perform duties according to on call schedule.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.

  • Ability to travel internationally.

  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening, and revising documents, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, accessing internet and web based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint, Agresso,

  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Canada, without sponsorship.
