Schlumberger CNC PROGRAMMER in Duncan, Oklahoma
This position is accountable for performing a variety of technical duties in support of the production effort in the machine shop by preparing programs for use on numerically controlled machines and performing other duties as a member of the Industrial Engineering Department relating to cost reduction, method studies, tooling, etc.
Develop new, or changing existing, programs on a timely basis for use by operators on CNC controlled equipment in order to meet production schedules.
Analyze production problems to determine the need for programs, tooling, or procedure changes. Take appropriate action to resolve the problems or recommend solutions to the project leader.
Coordinate work activities with shop supervisors to assure project completion is consistent with production schedules.
Keep abreast of the latest techniques in programming to obtain optimum output from numerically controlled production machines.
Participate in other areas relating to cost reduction, operating procedures, equipment justification, tooling, etc. for reducing operating costs and to improve efficiency.
Maintain master program tapes (discs) and assure they are properly identified to prevent unnecessary delays and costly errors. Train individual machine operators in the use of control tapes and operation of the equipment.
Utilize and maintain tape preparation equipment (which includes Cad/Cam) in order to produce machine programs efficiently.
Maintain open communication between other programmers and other departments on techniques and daily functions.
Assist in general orderliness and cleanliness of the department area.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Must have three (3) + years of experience in CNC programming
Must have demonstrated a level of knowledge and ability as such that he/she can assist and advise machinists
Valves & Measurement
This position requires specialized technical training, an understanding of programming techniques, knowledge of theory and practical operations of numerically controlled production machines, and a high degree of analytical ability in order to fulfill the objectives of this position.
Knowledge and experience with Edgecam software a plus.
