Schlumberger Laboratory Engineer Trainee in Georgetown, Guyana

The Laboratory Engineer Trainee is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to customers. The Laboratory Engineer Trainee identifies continuous improvement opportunities during service delivery, implements standard work, and manages risk during service delivery. This person interfaces with the customer to apply the appropriate fluid design, and identifies opportunities to introduce new technology solutions and applications

  • Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.

  • Perform advanced additive selection for fluid design and recommend solutions to improve the process.

  • Perform procedural and process improvement plan feasibility, development, and implementation within the laboratory and fluid testing domains.

  • Ensure that laboratory equipment is in clean, working condition and that waste is regularly disposed.

  • Monitor the operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment.

  • Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.

  • Perform regular audits to ensure the laboratory operates according to required standards.

  • Assist the Design/Technical Engineer and Product Champions with technical support as required.

  • Perform a Risk Analysis before each task/job to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.

  • Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.

  • Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.

  • Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.

  • Maintain the required safety training.

  • Bachelor's in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering is prefered

  • Fresh out of University preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Good problem-solving abilities, proactive, fast learner, good organizational and time management skills, positive attitude
