Schlumberger Software Team Leader in Houston, Texas

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a small team of technical Engineering and Sustaining staff, typically focused on a subsystem or sub-element of a larger product development or technology development project. Plan and supervise a small (typically fewer than 8) team of staff. Work with the Software Program/Project Manager and team members to identify and organize the best approach to executing the tasks required for the project. Ensure that his/her team follows the applicable Product Development Process and adhere to all of the relevant Standards and Procedures. Deliver the sub-system or sub-elements in time and at the necessary level of quality so as to respect the parent project requirements, timeline and budget. Provide technical documentation from the team that describes proven solutions for the project, including design files, technical drawings and specifications documents as required by the EMS management system. Monitor and guide good working practices relating to QHSE, technical rigor, professional behavior and performance of the assigned team. Maintain the necessary level of expertise for self and team through training and development as appropriate for the execution of the project. Work with the Software Program/Project Manager to set annual objectives and perform regular appraisals of performance for the assigned team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, or Engineering.

  • Minimum Experience: 36 months Experience in industry development environments, frameworks, product development and build process, software lifecycle management, agile and iterative development.

  • Alternate Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, or Engineering.

  • Alternate Experience: 60 months Experience in industry development environments, frameworks, product development and build process, software lifecycle management, agile and iterative development.
