Job Description

The Logistics Specialist is primarily responsible for managing international movement of assets, products, and materials upon request of the P&SC Team, Internal Purchasing, Material Specialist. They Plan and allocate third-party resources that execute the shipment, and coordinate with the Geounit Import Export Specialist for movements to/from the country port exit/entry. They optimize equipment utilization, select the most cost-effective routings, comply with selection of preferred contracted carriers, and secure delivery per the established service level.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan shipments that meet required delivery dates (RDD) from operations and identify consolidation opportunities.

  • Responsible for managing product line expectation at the early stage of shipment RDD vs Possible Delivery Date.

  • Ensure the maximum usage of SLB contract rates when arranging shipments.

  • Responsible for proper export shipping invoice creation.

  • Manage operational logistics transactions with the logistics suppliers.

  • Responsible and accountable for timely sending of pre-alert to be receiving location and accurate EDD vs RDD.

  • Be the GeoUnit/Support Center (customer) focal point for international logistics movements.

  • Ensure full compliance of transports with the international transport regulations.

  • Monitor cargo moves status and performances and investigate deviations.

  • Perform real-time tracking and monitoring of shipments and communicate any deviations with stakeholders.

  • Implement proactive and corrective measures combined with appropriate communication when early warning signs of deviation are detected.

  • Manage international logistics movements ensuring compliance with SLB policies. Assesses carrier performance with respect to on-time delivery and on-time pick-up.

  • Ensure full compliance of transports with the international transport regulations.

  • Ensure proper storage of electronic documents in the system.

  • Act as the interface between the Import/Export Teams and assure smooth communication flow between parties.

  • Participate in the performance analysis meeting.

  • Monitor and capture logistics milestone data in the business system.

  • Raise RIRs for service quality incidents and red money in QUEST and escalates to Manager or Team Leader. Follow up on action plan.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Engineering / Supply Chain/ Business Administration.

  • Minimum 2+ years of working experience in the logistics industry.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and collaborative skills.

  • Understanding of general logistics process flow.

  • Understanding of local logistics rules and regulations.

  • Proficiency / working knowledge of TMS/SAP/OTM, preferable but not necessary.
